Abstract

384,794. Cartons. DIAGONAL CORRUGATED PATENT CORPORATION, 1087, Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. Dec. 8, 1931, No. 34009. Convention date, July 16. [Class 18.] A one-piece carton is made from a blank in the form of an oblique parallelogram slotted perpendicularly to two parallel edges and folded along lines respectively parallel and perpendicular to such edges. As shown the blanks are cut from a web of double-faced corrugated board 1 along lines 2 at 45‹ to the side edges of the sheet, the corrugations 4 being then at 45‹ to the edges 2 of the blank. The blank is creased along the lines 5 parallel to the edges 2 and creased and slotted along the lines 6, 7 to define the side panels 8, 8a and end flaps 9, 9a of the carton in which the meeting edges 3a of the blank run diagonally across certain of the side panels and end flaps. The joint 3a may be sealed by a strip of tape or the facing sheets of the web may extend beyond the corrugated layer at opposite edges 11, 14 thereof, these edges overlapping and being glued together when the carton is made up.
