Abstract

630,622. Boxes; paper and like bags. VIVIAN, G. S. Feb. 18, 1947, No. 4731. Convention date, Oct. 9, 1945. [Classes 18 and 94(ii)] The lower end closure of a rectangular tubular carton comprises integral and connected extensions of the side walls, the extensions being no longer than half the width of a side wall, and each having a corner 31 removed and being scored to form triangles 16, 22. On each extension a score line 21<SP>1</SP> forming with the cut edge of the corner 31, and the adjacent side of the extension a triangle 46, may be provided. The extensions are folded in rotation, each triangle 46 overlapping in part a triangle 22, the triangle 22 folding back on a triangle 16. The folds of the bottom closure vary from one to three thicknesses of material, over which a plain blank is adhesively secured. The upper end of the carton is closed by known means. The carton may be of metal foil, plastic sheet, or cardboard or paper which may be waxed. Heat-sealing material may be used. Specification 516,527 is referred to.
