Abstract
378,677. Filter-presses. BOULTON, Ltd., W., Navigation Road, Burslem, and HALL, H. H., 18, Withies Road, Trent Vale, both in Stoke-on-Trent. Sept. 19, 1931, No. 26252. [Class 46.] In a filter-press of the type in which the moving end-plate d is provided with rollers e travelling on the side rails b of the press, sprocket wheels g are attached to the rollers so that the latter can be driven by chains h from a shaft j, mounted, as shown in Fig. 1, on the endplate d or, as shown in Fig. 3, on the end crosshead m of the press. In the last-mentioned arrangement, the chains are kept taut by weighted or spring-pressed jockey pulleys n, preferably carried by pivoted levers o. The shaft j may be turned manually or by power.
