377,462. Luggage holders. RUEGGER, A. and BOUTET, P., 11, Rue Danton, Levallois-Perret, Seine, France. Aug. 22, 1931, No. 23672. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1930. [Class 103 (ii).] An automobile trunk of sheet metal, veneered wood, or other suitable material comprises a body which is integral or connected with the chassis of the vehicle, and the rear face 2 of which may serve as a support for spare wheels, the body having a hood or lid 3 which in the closed position covers the sides as well as the top of the trunk, and guiding means whereby the hood may be moved bodily from the closed position to an open position adjacent the rear wall of the trunk. The lateral panels 4 of the hood may be connected by links 5, 6 to pivots 7, 8 on the base 1 of the trunk or the hood may slide on guideways made integral with or secured to the base 1 and suitably articulated so that their extensions may be folded to lie against the base of the panel 2 or edges of the panels 4 in the closed position. Handles 9 may be provided on the rear edges of the panels 4. Small trunks or drawers are provided inside the trunk to be easily accessible when the lid is opened.
