[Class 64 (ii).] A circulating hot water heating system comprises a boiler 1, pump 2, heat consumers 4, and a heat accumulator 6, the upper and lower parts of which are connected by pipes 8, 9 with the delivery and return pipes 3, 5, the consumers 4 being connected in the branch of the delivery pipe leading to the bottom of the accumulator. A valve 10, which closes with increasing pressure, and opens with falling pressure, or is controlled by the temperature of the circulating water, is inserted in a branch of the return pipe 9 leading to the upper part of the accumulator. A valve 11 is connected in the branch 8, and a valve 12 in the return pipe each increases the flow-through area with increasing pressure, and reduces it with falling pressure. The peak loads are thereby compensated so that, independently of the consumption, any desired quantity of heat may be supplied to the boiler, the mean supply of heat corresponding to the mean consumption of heat. The consumption fluctuations of heat consumers connected by a pipe 43 to the steam space of the boiler may similarly be equalized.
