376,255. Hinged windows ; doors. UTLEY, T., Silverdale Avenue, Tuebrook, Liverpool. March 25,1931, No. 9178. [Class 20 (iii).] A window or door frame for ships or the like is provided with a continuous buttress or thickened part between the flange A which is secured to the support and the web A<1> projecting therefrom, and the edges of the flange are rounded at the corners. The web A<1> may be provided with a strengthening flange A<5> of the. same depth as the buttress and a seating flange A<2> for the window or door. The frame may be built up of lengths mitred and welded at the corners, which are then rounded by grinding. A rubber sealing ring B5 is provided in the movable frame B and a co-operating groove A<3> in the seating flange A<2>.
