Abstract

Tools are made from substantially beryllium-free iron alloys containing a total of 2-40 per cent of tungsten or molybdenum or both and a total of 2-40 per cent of one or more of the elements cobalt, nickel, manganese, silicon, chromium, and vanadium, and free from or low in carbon, the alloys being heated to over 900 DEG C., rapidly cooled, and afterwards annealed at 400-800 DEG C.
