Abstract
372,853. Collapsable boxes. JAMES W., 42, Totteridge Road, Enfield Wash Middlesex. Feb. 25, 1931, No. 5884. [Class 18.] A collapsable box having separate rigid end side, bottom, and lid members has each end member e, Fig. 6, hinged to the bottom d by a flexible extension e<2> affixed adhesively theretc and backed by a foldable member a, Fig. 2, of reinforced paper adhesively fixed to the under surface of the bottom d by extensions a<2>. Extensions a<3> on the member a are fixed to the sides b, Fig. 7, and extensions a<4> to the lid parts c<1>, c<2> so that the complete assembly may be collapsed, as shown in Fig. 9, by folding the ends on to the base and the sides, with the lid part folded back thereon, on to the ends with the members a folding between them. When the box is erected, the extensions a<5> of the members a are secured to the underside of the bottom d and the extensions a<6> and those e<1> on the ends are secured to the lid parts to secure them closed.
