Abstract

372,467. Pipe joints. NORMAN, J. W. E., Hill House, Charing, Kent. March 11, 1931, No. 7491. [Class 99 (i).] In a pipe joint the socket has ledges 7, 11 and a tapered portion 3 which are engaged by complementary surfaces on the spigot 6. A packing ring 10 on the ledge 11 is compressed by the spigot. The mouth of the socket is filled with cement, has an annular recess 14, and tapers at 15 towards the spigot.
