Abstract

370,329. Clearers for preparatory cotton-spinning machines. MOLAU, E., 27, Ívra Husargatan, Gothenburg, Sweden. Sept. 15, 1931, No. 25882. [Class 120 (ii).] In preparatory spinning.machines having a hinged cover 24 for the drawing rollers, a rotary clearer 26 is supported so that it will follow the cover on opening for inspection and will rest freely against the corresponding top roller 6 when operative. Pins 33 which unite sections of the clearers 26 are supported in hooks 28, but do not contact with the bottoms of the hooks with the cover closed. The clearer 26 is adjustable laterally by clamping nuts 30, 31. The bottom rollers 1, 3, 5 are of steel with scored surfaces. The bearings 8 for the rollers 5 are fixed and those for the rollers 3, 1 adjustable on slides 9, 10 respectively ; the slides 10 moving in and parallel to the slides 9 and carrying rods 17 and blocks 18 with rods 19 on which the top rollers are adjustably suspended by bearings 20, 21, 22. The upper rollers 2, 4, 6 are leatherclothed and frictionally driven from the bottom rollers. The yarn or roving 7 passes through a guide 70 to, the drawing rollers. The hooks 28 may alternatively be secured by lugs in the cover 21, or adjustable in slots in the top thereof.
