Abstract

<PICT:0368733/IV/1> In mixing gases and atomized liquids or treating solid bodies with the mixture or with gases, the media are separately charged in opposite senses by means of separately created static charges of electricity of high tension. An air purifier comprises a tower b and a fan a for forcing air therethrough, with a number of nozzles g producing a haze of water k. A channel connecting the fan and tower is divided by horizontal and vertical metal sheets d, e into a number of separate channels imparting a whirling motion to the issuing air streams to which is given a static charge of very high tension either in the channels or in the base of the tower while the water haze k is charged by separate means in the opposite sense. A layer h as of Raschig rings may be arranged above the nozzles to retain water drops. Textile goods may be treated with moisture in this way.
