365,406. Distributers for sand &c. EISENWERK GEB. FRISCH KOMMANDIT-GES., 6, Boheimstrasse, Augsburg, Germany. March 23, 1931, No. 8867. Convention date, May 30, 1930. [Class 6 (i).] A machine for engaging sand, gravel, or grit heaped at the side of a road and distributing it on tarred or oiled road surfaces by centrifugal action, comprises a rotary truncated conical drum having a cover studded in sectors with resilient steel wires so as to form a brush-like device. The drum 1 is keyed on a longitudinal shaft 3 driven through a reducing and reversing gear 7 from an engine 8 mounted on a wheeled frame 10. Guide plates 14, 15 are adjustably mounted on vertical frames 10<1>, 1011 so that they may be raised or lowered to limit the distance to which the grit is thrown.
