Abstract

363,845. Flanging pipes. MANNESMANNROHREN-WERKE, 1B, Berger Ufer, and KLEIN, E., 115, Am Gatherhof, Rath, both in D³sseldorf, Germany. Jan. 3, 1931, No. 280. [Class 83 (iv).] The end of a pipe is rolled over as in Fig. 3, by flaring it with die b as in Fig. 1, removing die b and flanging by die c as in Fig. 2, removing die c and rolling over of the die d as in Fig. 3. The die b may be shaped to form a bell-mouth in the pipe as in Fig. 4, the die d also being modified as shown. All the dies are mounted on a press mandrel a.
