As shown, the roller is mounted on a rocking arm k carried by a carriage h traversable on rails f, f<1> in a centrifugal machine and is driven by a motor l. In bobbin machines the roller may be driven by a belt, and as the bobbins can be changed successively, the carriage may be automatically traversed by an endless chain set in motion at definite intervals.
