Abstract

362,623. Bolt fastenings. MCGOWAN, P. D., 23A, Fettes Row, Edinburgh. Nov. 11, 1930, No. 33878. [Class 44.] In a window holder or fastening of the type comprising a spring-shot bolt carried by one sash and adapted to engage one or other of a number of apertures in the other sash, or in a plate fixed thereto, the bolt is provided with a removable screen knob H and the housing A is closed at one end by a screw ring K through which the slot C projects and against which one end of the spring D bears, the other end bearing against a shoulder G in the housing. Bolt and spring can thus be removed from the housing for renewal &c. by removing knob H and ring K. The bolt carries stops F adapted to register with slots J in the front end of the housing to allow retraction of the bolt, which can be retained retracted by rotation to engage the stop F in recesses S in the outer face of the housing end. The housing has flanges B with apertures N for fixing screws.
