361,155. Ironing-machines. AMERICAN LAUNDRY, MACHINERY CO., Norwood Station, Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A. Dec. 16, 1930, No. 37958. Convention date, April 7. [Class 138 (ii).] Three ironing rollers 15, 16, 17 and co-operating eam chests 42, 43, 44 are arranged at different levels within a closed housing 28 which is provided with means for circulating air therethrough. Two of the rollers are provided with additional steam chests 48, 49 and all the chests are yieldingly and adjustably mounted on lever arms 45, 46, 47 whereby they can be simultaneously moved into or removed from contact with the rollers by rotation of a cam shaft 66. The cam shaft is normally rotated from an auxiliary motor through worm gearing, but it may be rotated manually and the degree of pressure is indicated by a pointer on a graduated scale. The machine is provided with feeding, transfer and delivery belts the latter being housed in a rear extension 109 of the casing which constitutes the air inlet thereto and provides an extended path for the goods after being ironed to dry them in the incoming air current. An additional air inlet is provided at the entrance of the feed belts. The air is withdrawn bv a fan through a hood 119 and through the peripheries of the perforated ironing rollers. A trip roller 102 which operates a switch in the main motor circuit is provided at the feed side of the machine, and stripping fingers 114 are provided at the delivery side.
