[Class 28 (i).] A hot-plate or cooking- plate comprises an iron and a mica plate in combination, the latter serving to prevent overheating of the food and to distribute the heat to several utensils. In the form shown the mica plate e is held between upper and lower metal plates a, b2, which are riveted together. A frame b of angular section material is riveted to the edge of the plate a, and a handle c is provided. The plate, instead of being movable, may be fixed to a gas cooker or sunk in the top of a kitchen range.
