Abstract
519,084. Electrically-heated stoves. THIMBLETHORPE, W. S. Sept. 22, 1938, No. 27640. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric heating stove may be used as a roam heater or as a combined hot-plate and griller by altering the position of the heating element and parts connected thereto. Fig. 2 shows the apparatus used as a room-heater. The hood 9 is -movably supported in a base 11 and carries the heating element 10, cover plate 12, and a plate 13 which may act as a reflector. A heat-retaining plate 14 is mounted behind the element 10. The hood, which is provided with lugs 19 and a handle 20, is connected to the base by a link 15 which is pivoted to the base at 16 and to the hood at 18 The member 9 may be lifted by the handle 20 and swung round to the position, shown in Fig. 4, wherein the lugs 19 engage the top of the end plates of the base member. The plate 14 forms a support for cooking vessels, and a. tray 21, the height of which is adjustable, can be used in a lower position as a support for pans, and in a raised position reflects heat upon the plate 14.
