[Classes 29 and 64 (iii).] An evaporator coil a for cooling air in refrigerating chambers is fitted with a corrugated plate c, substantially in the same plane as the coil, to facilitate heat transfer, the straight portions b of the sinuous tube passing through holes e situated at about the middle of the corrugations, which form vertical channels for the circulating air. The holes may be formed by punching so as to produce burrs contacting with the tubes. The corrugations may be of V or rectangular section.
