Abstract
355,439. Stuffing - box substitutes. METERS, Ltd., Blackfriars House, Parsonage, and APPLETON, C. C., 13, Croft Street, Lower Broughton, both in Manchester. July 5, 1930, No. 20428. [Class 122 (v).] Packing for the shaft a of a rotary pump &c. comprises two thin discs j, k, which bear against the sides of a collar c on the shaft. The discs are spaced by a ring g, of the same width as the collar c, and are secured in an enlargement of the shaft bearing by a cover i. The collar c is clamped against a shoulder b on the shaft by a sleeve d on a pulley &c. e, and projects radially beyond the shoulder and sleeve.
