Abstract

354,212. Securing dynamo-armatures on shafts. STONE & CO., Ltd., J., Deptford, London, and HONEY, A. E., 31, Seymour Gardens, Ilford, Essex. May 3, 1930, No. 13697. [Class 80 (ii).] The armature of a train-lighting dynamo &c. is mounted on a spindle by means of a sleeve formed with hollow cones engaging with centring cones, one of which is integral with the spindle and the other adjustable thereon. The adjustable cone 24 is formed as a split collet and is forced into engagement with the conical surface 16 on the sleeve 1 by means of a nut 25 against a spring 23 bearing on a shoulder on the sleeve 1, which is thus forced into engagement with the fixed cone 22 to which it is secured by a key 14. The collet 24 and nut 25 may be connected by a revoluble coupling, so that the collet is withdrawn on unscrewing the nut.
