Abstract

352,779. Aerials. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Aug. 19, 1930, No. 24810. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] In order to ensure a uniform horizontal distribution of the radiated field, with little or no vertical component, so as to be suitable for broadcasting, a number of individual aerials are energized in phase and arranged in triangular, polygonal, or circular formation, as shown in Figs. 1, 3 and 4. Each formation comprises opposed pairs of aerials or aerial structures separated by half a wave-length or a multiple of that distance. The vertical component may be still further reduced by arranging a number of such systems one above the other. The actual transmitter or receiver is preferably located at the centre of the aerial formation, and is connected to the outer members by feed-lines. Specification 347,525 is referred to.
