Abstract

349,758. Reservoir polishing mops. PRIESTLEY, W. C., 47, Mayville Avenue, Headingley, Leeds. May 10, 1930, No. 14426. [Class 19.] A mop comprises a light aluminium casting 1 with a flat base 2 bolted thereto and covered with felt or other cover 3, and a pivoted handle 4. The casting 1 has an inclined floor 5 to support a sheet metal receptacle 6 adapted to receive a collapsable tube 7 of polish, the neck of which communicates by ducts 9, 10 with orifices 11 in the base. The tube 7 is compressed by a resilient plate 12 which is operated by a transverse bar 13 pivoted in slotted bearings 14 and having arms extending through arcuate slots 16 in the casting in such a position that movement of the handle 4 in one direction will cause it to depress the arms 15 and bar and so expel the polish. To produce free action, the arms 15 have small rollers for contact with the handle 4, contact with the plate 12 being made by a roller 17 connected with the bar 13. Other forms of containers may be used for the polish, or this may be placed direct in the receptacle 6.
