Abstract

347,838. Amusement apparatus. FRANKE, A., 86, Eisenacherstrasse, Berlin. March 27, 1930, No. 9741. [Class 132 (i).] Motor-boats 7 with shock-absorbing walls 8 are propelled by internal-combustion engines over an elongated watercourse 3 containing a central island 2, the width of the actual waterway being such that the boats can at no point therein turn completely round. The banks are lined with shockabsorbing planks 8, and the boats may be compelled to proceed to a landing stage 6 by the operation of a hinged barrier 4. The boat 7 is provided with a steering wheel 12, Fig. 2, for the actuation of the rudder 13, and the screw 15 is driven by the motor 14. The hand-lever 16, movable only between the stops 21, so that the engine cannot be stopped by its use, operates the clutch 20 and also the throttle of the engine. The foot-pedal 24 operates a brake 26 consisting of a curved surface of approximately the width of the boat, and retained normally within a cavity in the bottom of the boat by means of the spring 28.
