Abstract

345,117. Tyre valves. DUNCAN, C. H., 176, Church Street, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. April 7, 1930, No. 11023. [Class 135.] A tyre valve has a lift valve member 15 provided with two concentric closure surfaces arranged in series and is connected to a spindle carrying a third closure 22. The valve member has guide rails 16 engaging the walls of the casing and carries a resilient washer 21 adapted to co-operate with a projecting seat 14 on a member 6 screwed into the casing. The washer 21 is surrounded by a tapered flange 17 adapted to co-operate with a resilient washer 13 housed in a tapered recess 12 in the member 6 surrounding the seat 14. The spindle 19 which is screwed to the valve member carries, a cup 22 containing a washer adapted to co-operate with a seat 27 formed on a member 24 screwed into a recess formed in the upper end of the member 6. The member 24 has a tapered surface engaging a corresponding surface in the recess and the member 6 has a corresponding surface seating on the end of the casing.
