Abstract
344,890. Roller-and-breast crushing mills. CLARK, G., 132, Cottingham Road, Hull. Dec. 12, 1929, No. 38093. [Class 59.] The rotor C is provided with teeth c<1>, the faces of which are set back from the direction of rotation, and acts in conjunction with (i) a plain, transversely ribbed, or serrated percussion plate E; (ii) a percussion block shaped to the contour of the rotor teeth and formed by a separate block R or by the commencement of channel-shaped members G, and (iii) with channel members G having spacer bars or cutters J which engage the peripheral track of the rotor teeth. The percussion block E and channel members are pivoted at K and M respecttively and are provided with stops P, Q and breaking pieces L, N. If a separate percussion block R is used then it is pivoted at S and is provided with a stop U and a breaking piece T. The coal is fed to a hopper A and is crushed by the teeth c<1> against the percussion face E. Further disintegration occurs between the teeth and percussion block R and the coal is finally drawn into the channels G and disintegrated against the bars J through which it is discharged. The sides G may be separate from the gratings and may be hinged to the pin M.
