Abstract

342,546. Road vehicle bodies. PORTESS, G. H., Short's Corner, Frithville, Sibsey, Boston, Lincolnshire. Feb. 15, 1930, No. 5087. [Class 108 (i).] Detachable motor lorry sides and ends are connected to the vehicle by means of a metal strap having at one end an off-set angle lug and a staple member having a hole to receive the lug which is engageable with the hole only by a rectilinear movement and a turning movement and disengageable by the reverse movements. As shown, a strap 1 having means for securing it to the lorry, side 3 or end 4 is provided with an angle lug 8, 9 engageable with a vertical hole 17 in a staple member 14, 15. The lug 8, 9 is preferable curved at 10 and rectangular at 11, 12. The straps 1 may have eyes 6 or pins 5 for securing the sides and ends 3, 4 or 4a together by collar pins 7.
