342,148. Railway points ; electromagnets. CHEATHAM ELECTRIC SWITCHING DEVICE CO., 4780, Crittenden Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A. Feb. 4, 1930, No. 3731. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1929. [Class 104 (i).] The magnetic plunger 4 of a double solenoid used for operating railway points in either direction is connected to a link 11 and yoke 10 through an elastic cushion 12. The cushion is carried by the plunger and consists of rubber, a spring, or fluid. The cushion minimizes shock and allows the link 11 to swing slightly.
