Abstract

341,567. Engine foundations'. DITHMER, E., 7, Valbylanggade, Copenhagen. Oct. 24, 1929, No. 32309. Convention date, Sept. 19. [Class 122 (iii).] The foundation timber in wooden ships is covered with iron, steel &c. which carries the bottom frame of the engine. Angle iron 5 is secured to the timber 4 by vertical and substantially horizontal bolts 13, 14 which may go through to the outer skin 3 of the ship. Blocks 7 are secured to the angle iron and adjustable wedges are arranged between these and the engine frame. The engine rests upon blocks 9. The front end of the bottom frame 6 abuts against two end blocks 10. Bolts 11 passing through the engine frame are provided to take the pressure when running astern.
