Abstract
341,378. Centrifugal pumps. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. June 6, 1930, No. 17612. Convention date, June 7, 1929. [Class 110 (i).] To reduce the pumping limit of a multi-stage compresser working on n stages, the cross section of flow of which become smaller towards the pressure side, n + 2 stages are provided of which the first three connect through valves 11, 12, 13 to the suction and the last three through valves 14, 15, 16 to the delivery. By operation of the valves by rods 9, 10 one or more suction stages can be disconnected whilst at the same time a corresponding number of pressure stages are connected so that the working range of the compresser is displaced towards the pressure side where the cross section of flow is smaller.
