Abstract

340,909. Endless chain elevators. MOORHOUSE, H., 31, Shay Lane, Halifax, Yorkshire. April 26, 1930, No. 12889. [Class 78 (i).] In an endless chain elevator when the chain breaks the motive power is cut off by the descent of the weighted arm 10 of a bell-crank lever which opens a switch 12. The other arm 5 of the lever has a bearing face 6 which rests on the elevator chain 2. The arm 10 is connected through a link 14, lever 15 and rock-shaft 16 to an arm 13 which when turned clockwise comes into the path of the elevator cross-bars 3 and prevents the descent of the chain. Switch actuating gear may be provided for each run of the elevator.
