Casings.-Apparatus for evacuating steam and fumes from a cooking-pan or other chamber, comprises a vacuum chamber 5 into which the steam &c. is led by a pipe 4, a chamber 7 in free communication with the chamber 5 through an opening 6, and a fan 10 arranged in the chamber 7 behind an opening in a partition 9, the gases passing out through a pipe 8. In the construction shown, the partition 9 is of truncated conical form, and the chamber 7 tapers towards the outlet. The apparatus is illustrated as applied to a frying- range of the kind described in Specification 139,584, [Class 126, Stoves &c.].
