335,401. Forsyth, J. C., and Forsyth, G. C. Oct. 17, 1929. Spigot joints with slotted sleeves.-Two tubes, electric conduits &c., G, H are coupled by an external sleeve A having plain tapered ends B, C formed with comparatively large V-shaped slits D which are adapted to be contracted to grip the tubes by nuts E, F formed with a partly tapered interior to coact with the tapered end of the sleeve and also screwthreaded for engagement with a thread on said sleeve. An inspection hole N i, provided in the coupling sleeve to facilitate positioning of the said tubes. Fig. 6 shows a modified coupling for use between a tube G and a junction box M, the sleeve A screwing onto a nipple K which engages one of the usual screwed apertures L in the junction box and also effects the correct positioning of the tube.
