Abstract
335,356. Felten & Guilleaume Carlswerk Akt.-Ges. Oct. 6, 1928, [Convention date]. Junction boxes.-The conductors a of a cable b entering a pupin coil box k are connected at the centre of the box with those leads d from the coils that emerge from the number board at the end of the box opposite to that at which the cable enters. The outgoing cable b<1> has its conductors a' connected in a similar manner to the coil leads e that emerge at the opposite end of the box. This arrangement allows the insulating sleeve that is slipped on to each conductor before making the joint to be accommodated on the section a of conductor between the wall of the box at m and the joint at c. The sleeve is afterwards moved into position to cover the joint. The coils may be aggregated to form columns surrounded by two crossed copper bands passed through an iron disc, the whole being wrapped in muslin tape.
