Spigot joints with divided sleeve ; joints with yielding outer part compressed.-A connector for securing pipes, conduits, or the like is constructed as a clip or clamping collar which is free to turn before it is secured but is restrained against axial movements. The end of the pipe is split at b and is surmounted by a freely rotatable clamping collar c having a tightening screw d. The collar has a peripheral groove e which engages a projection f stamped out of the body of the pipe fitting, or formed separately and rigidly secured to the fitting.
