Air-heating stoves; gas and oil heating stoves; baffles. - A gas or oil heating-stove comprises spaced bar members 1 carrying an open ended casing 6, the lower end of which extends below the gas or oil burner 11, together with an open-ended lining or inner casing 8, which forms a flue for the gases, between which lining and the outer casing 6 is formed an air-heating jacket 32. The stove shown, which is of triangular shape in horizontal section, comprises three, bars 1 carrying the casing 6 and also strap bars 9 to which the inner casing 8 is secured. A metal reflector 3 is arranged below the burner. An apertured cover plate 15 secured to the tops of the bars 1 carries a series of superposed baffle plates 17, 18, 19, spaced apart by down-turned lugs at their corners and retained in position by a clamping device 26 to which the handle 29 is attached, and which has three out-turned arms 27 which engage below the edges of the aperture in the cover plate 15. Alternatively, the baffle plates may be hinged at one corner, so that they may be more or less turned up to vary the openings between them. The baffles deflect the gases laterally and cause them to mix with the cooler air discharged from the jacket 32. A sliding door 31 is provided in the casing 6, and may be glazed with transparent material.
