Abstract

Manure distributers.-In a fertilizer distributer having a feeding-device comprising screen-like delivery members adapted to reciprocate longitudinally of the hopper between the two members of a slotted double bottom, means are provided for oscillating the upper slotted member of the double bottom to feed the fertilizer to the delivery screens. Fig. 2 shows part of the machine inverted. The two screens, 3, 4 may consist of perforated plates or wire nettings. They are reciprocated side by side between the two slotted members 5, 6 of the double bottom. The upper member 5 is oscillated below the hopper walls by a pivoted lever 21, Fig. 3, engaging in a. slot 22 in an extension 23 of the member 5 and actuated by an eccentric 19 on a transverse shaft from which the screens 3, 4 are driven. In order that the direction of movement of the member 5 may cross that of the screens 3, 4, transverse bars 24 on the member 5 project into slots in the sides of the hopper, the slots being provided with holders 26 and rollers 27. The extension 23 may be supported by a projection 22 in the bottom member 6. The transverse shaft is driven from one of the travelling wheels by bevel gearing and drives the screens through cranks, slotted rocking links, and connecting- rods. The stroke is regulated by moving the ends of the connecting-rods along the slotted links by means of a hand-lever provided with a locking-quadrant. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the two screens 3. 4 may consist of series of fingers. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
