Manure, seed, &c. distributers.-In a machine for distributing manure seeds, &c., in which the driving-shaft is adapted to receive motion from either ground wheel and passes through the container, two reciprocating feeding-elements are arranged one at each side of the container and are reciprocated transversely of the machine alternately so as to feed through continuous gaps between the bottom and side walls of the container. The axle 2 forms the driving-shaft and is connected to the ground wheels by ratchet mechanism. It drives two transverse shafts 7, 8 through bevel gearing 4, 5, 6 enclosed in a casing within the container 3. Eccentrics 9 ou the shafts 7, 8 drive rocking levers 11 connected to bars 15, 16 carrying prongs 18 projecting into the container through gaps, the size of which is regulated by means of plates 20, 21 adjusted by levers 22. The stroke of the reciprocating bars 15, 16 is regulated by shifting the pivot pins 12 of the levers 11. Movable panels 23 within the container are connected to the rocking levers 11 so as to be reciprocated. The eccentrics are relatively displaced through 90‹ plus a compensating angle depending on the gearing and the width of the bottom of the casing. In the modification shown in Fig. 4 the feeding-elements comprise two reciprocating plates 26, 27 forming the bottom of the container. Stationary prongs 30 project into the container, and prongs 32 on the plates 26, 27 co-operate with stationary forks 31 for breaking up lumps.
