331,073. Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., Willshaw, H., and Norcross, T. June 11,1929. Tyres, elastic, special apparatus for making.-Bead-setting apparatus for use in a tyre-building machine comprises a fixed bead-carrier ring 9 and a movable ring 8 arranged on opposite sides of a drum 6, means being provided for first moving the ring 8 up to the drum and then moving both those parts up to the ring 9. The ring 8 is carried on a shaft 1 capable of axial and rotary movements, the drumcentre 7 being keyed to a sleeve 5 within which the shaft 1 can slide but not turn. A spring 10 may be fitted between the drum and one or both of the rings 8, 9.
