Handles.-A handle for a bag or other portable article comprises a suitably covered spring steel strip a having secured to the ends, which project slidably into housings c attached to the article. laterally-projecting terminal members a<1> adapted to abut against shoulders or stops C<SP>2> provided on the housings. The upper forward edges of the housings are rolled upwardly at c<3> to adapt them to the form of the handle when raised.
