Facilitating changing speed.-In addition to the engine clutch upon a vehicle there is a subsidiary clutch a the disengagement of which disconnects the load from the gears, or some of them, such disengagement being effected by suction from the engine when the engine clutch pedal f is depressed by the driver. A represents the gear box. A pipe c<1> leading to the induction pipe is connected through a valve d and pipe c to a motor cylinder b. The clutch a is disengaged against the thrust of spring a<1> when cylinder b is connected to vacuum, and this is done when the valve piston d<1> is moved to the right in the act of depressing pedal f to disengage main clutch.
