Abstract

326,484. Barden, J. R. Nov, 13, 1928. Couplings. - In a connecting lead device, for electrical apparatus such as fires, &c., comprising a drum or bobbin 4 having a handle 6 and mounted upon a spindle 3 carried by a base 1, the bobbin is provided with socket terminals 5 to receive the flexible lead of the said apparatus and the handle 6 is mounted upon a slide 7 which can be moved radially thereby on the face of the drum to cover one or more of the terminals 5 or, alternatively, engage a stop 8 on the base 1 to prevent rotation of the bobbin. In a modification, rotation of the bobbin while apparatus is connected thereto is prevented by a spring-controlled bolt carried by the base and adapted to engage a tooth or teeth on the bobbin; alternatively, the act of engaging the plug carried by the lead of the apparatus with the sockets may operate mechanism to lock the bobbin.
