325,381. Douglas Motors, Ltd., and Douglas, J. Feb. 9, 1929. Driving steering-wheels.-In a motor truck fitted with a single driving-wheel capable of being swivelled about a vertical axis through a complete revolution for steering and reversing, the driving-wheel 15 is driven through bevel gearing 21, 22 from a vertical shaft 19 which is mounted in bearings 20 on one arm of the driving-wheel fork 13 and enclosed by casings 23, 24, 25 bolted to the fork. An engine 2 drives the shaft 19 through a, friction clutch 6, bevel gearing 8, 9, and spur gears 17, 18, the bevel wheel' 9 and spur gear 17 being mounted on a vertical shaft 10 rotating in bearings in the steering stem 11 which is integral with the fork 13.
