Abstract

Magnetic instruments. - A four-pole magnet system for loud-speakers comprises an armature e mounted on a frame f connected to the diaphragm j by a rod i and carried on the end of a lever k which does not vibrate with the transmission end of the frame but can be adjusted about its fulcrum point m to adjust the armature setting without varying the stress in the frame. One side of the lever k is loaded by a spring n and the other side by an adjustable, spring-controlled, screwed abutment piece o, the movement of the lever by the screw o being limited by a stop q on the cover plate r. The armature is surrounded by a coil g and vibrates between pole pieces b carried by magnets c screwed to the non-magnetic frame a.
