Abstract

324,294. Roehr, A. H. April 13, 1929. Filters having sheet filtering-materials; separating by gravity. - Oil or other liquid to be cleaned is supplied through a tubular member 8, having perforations in the side wall and bottom, to the inner of two screens 11, 14, which are lined with felt and supported in the casing 1 by flanges on their upper edges. The felt linings are secured within the screens by expansible rings 29, 30. The filtered liquid is discharged through a tube 17 which extends upwards from the base of the casing. Water and other impurities settle in a compartment 19 into which they pass through perforations 22 in a baffle plate 21 supported by the top of a sleeve 20 surrounding the tube 17. Circulatory movement in the compartment 19 is prevented by vertical webs 23, 24, fixed to the sleeve 20 and supporting a lower baffle ring 24a.
