Abstract

323,414. Baines, J., and Bums, Ltd., J. Feb. 26, 1929. Disc weels.-Wheels or rollers, particularly for use on escalators, conveyers, &c., comprise a disc body 2 and a bush 1 both formed of vulcanized fibre or like material the laminae in the disc and bush being respectively perpendicular and parallel to the wheel-axis. The disc body 2 is enclosed by side plates 3 which may be formed of brass or aluminium alloy of hardness corresponding to that of the disc material. The plates 3 may be formed with driving-lugs 5 recessed into the ends of the bush.
