Abstract

321,340. Brookman A. W., and Harding, W. G. Nov. 22, 1928. Safety cut-off valves. -A safety cut-off valve has the valve member 7 carried by a bell crank lever 15 acted on by a spring 8 and adapted to have its free end engaged by a pivoted catch 14. The catch is actuated by a loaded diaphragm 12 subject to conduit pressure so that in the event of the pressure failing the catch is released and the valve closed by the spring 8. The valve is re-opened by a push button 9 housed in a recess 16 covered by a leakage-preventing diaphragm 17. The diaphragm may be secured to the valve casing where it is subject to conduit pressure. The diaphragms may be replaced by liquid sealed bells.
