Tanks for tar and the like; surface treatment with liquid materials.-A drum n of tar emulsion is received within an airtight container a having means, such as hand-operated prongs u, for piercing the drum to allow the emulsion to escape into the container for withdrawal as required, unaffected by exposure to the air. The container shown, which has a removable airtight cover g, is mounted on trunnions e on a vehicle frame which also supports a sand bin c and a tool-box d, the whole forming a compact road-repair outfit. Before withdrawal of the emulsion through a cock (not shown), the container is rocked on its trunnions to agitate the contents.
