Abstract
317,329. Jamieson, A. C., Gardiner, J. F., McDonald, W. J., and Troup, G. C. Aug. 13, 1928. [Convention date]. Hydraulic pumps. - Water enters and is discharged through pipes 17 which are connected by a cross pipe 20, partitioned as in Fig. 3, and formed with slots controlled by a sleeve valve 22. The valve is reversed at intervals by an arm 27 pivoted on a pin 26 and engaging jaws 28 on the sleeve. The arm 27 is actuated by an arm 29 integral with it and connected to a telescopic toggle arm 30, 31, the other arm of the toggle being formed by a rod 35 actuated by a float 36 and connected to an arm 34 rigid with the arms 27, 29. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), Fig. 6 (Cancelled) shows a modification in which the inlet and outlet pipes are provided with separate valves which are reversed on being struck by pins 50 carried by toggle arms 48 connected by telescopic arms 30, 31 to pedestals 44 on the valve chambers. The toggles are actuated by lazy-tongs connected to a bracket 52 on a float 36. The bottom lazy-tongs levers and the float are also connected by a lost motion device, still giving a positive action in case of wearing of the joints of the lazy-tongs. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
