Abstract

314,119. Goodger, A. E. March 23, 1928. Wheel-guards and obstruction-removers for vehicles comprise downwardly depending brackets 5 attached to the vehicle, guide means 8 for a horizontal slidable bar 4 carrying depending resilient arms 10 and resilient buffers. The slidable bar is provided with means such as rollers 17 to enable the buffers to partake of the steering movements of the wheel. The resilient buffers may be in the form of a roll or of the shape shown in Fig. 3, the buffers 11 being secured to the resilient arms 10 by plates 16 and provided with a roller 15 adapted to contact with the wheel or an obstruction being uncovered. The resilient arms may be adjustable in length. For rear wheels &c. the resilient arms may be secured to a convenient part of the frame.
